V-Guard Announces National Winners of Annual Big Idea Business Plan & Tech Design Competition

Sanchit Nagpal, Aayush Lohi and Burhanuddin of Indian Institute of Management-Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) have won first prize in the business plan competition at V-Guard’s annual Big Idea competitions for engineering and B-students. School.

Satyam Munot, Sujeet Chaubey and Srishti Bhat of Indian Institute of Management-Bodh Gaya and Khushal Narendrakumar Agarwal of IIM Nagpur were declared the first and second runners-up respectively out of a total of 20 teams shortlisted for the grand final.

Alekhya Chilukuri, Ramanathan M and Anurag Baruah from IMT Ghaziabad and Rithuvanthi B, Praveenkumar Santhanam, Saravanan SK from IIM Nagpur qualified for the Special Jury Prize.

Nagesh Agrawal and Ketaki Anil Shinde from Nirma University won the top prize in the Big Idea Tech design competition. R Darshan, GM Chindananda Swamy and Muzammil Bagewadi from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology and Laveena Wels, Nandu Rajeev and Sayooj VS from Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science were declared first and second runners-up respectively.

Krishna Prasad PS, Tomin VJ and Abhinu Sundaran from Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science qualified for the Special Jury Prize.

The theme for this year’s competition was “The Next Big Leap”. Finalists were invited to present insightful and innovative ideas for business growth in line with V-Guard’s business strategy. It saw over 300 applications from top business schools and engineering schools across the country.

Cash Prize

The winners of the business plan competition received cash prizes worth ₹2 lakh, ₹1 lakh and ₹50,000 for the top three positions, respectively. The Big Idea Technology winners received a cash prize worth ₹1 lakh, ₹50,000 and ₹25,000 for the top three positions respectively.

The four-member jury committee that chose the Plan B winners was led by Rajesh Nair, Business Leader, EY LLP, Kochi, and V Ramachandran, Director and COO, V-Guard, Sudarshan Kasturi, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, V-Guard and Arif Mohammad Kooliyat, Vice President of New Product Development, V-Guard Industries Ltd.

Ideas submitted by entrants were judged on parameters such as ingenuity, practicality of the application, feasibility, simplicity, and the positive impact it can have on V-Guard’s business and its consumers.

Mithun Chittilappilly, Managing Director of V-Guard Industries, recognized the winners.

The event created a platform for interaction with top V-Guard leaders, where young minds can discuss and understand business challenges to sharpen their thought process and foster a spirit of innovation within them.
