The Ministry of Labor and Industry (L&I) reminds job seekers to use SkillUp PA, a free virtual learning platform offering more than 5,000 unique training modules to help users refine their CVs and acquire new skills.

“SkillUp offers free online training for job seekers in Pennsylvania who want to start a new career or advance in their current career,” said L&I Secretary Jennifer Berrier. “At L&I, we are committed to helping develop the workforce in the Commonwealth, and we want to meet job seekers where they feel most comfortable. This is why SkillUp PA is so useful: Pennsylvanians can access it right from the comfort of their sofa or home office, at their own pace and at their own pace.

Since its launch in August, more than 5,300 users have registered and over 2,200 courses and 2,600 hours of training have been completed.

The platform allows users to access online courses such as time management, communication, information technology, customer service, marketing, secretarial work and accounting / finance. The most popular categories include effective communication, business etiquette, advanced skills improvement, written business communication, as well as teamwork and collaboration.

Users can also get industry-recognized credentials in the areas of human resources, project management, cybersecurity, and specialist credentials such as Microsoft Office Specialist and CompTIA.
