Round Rock Library accepting entries for business plan competition

Ready to start your dream in reality? The Round Rock Public Library is now accepting submissions to the recently announced Biz.ability Business Plan Competition.

Aimed at Round Rock-based startup entrepreneurs, the competition features a prize package worth more than $13,500 through program partnerships with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and Dell Technologies.

The grand prize winner will receive $7,500, a Dell computer system valued at $2,500 and a consultation with a Dell technology expert. The competition finalist will receive $3,500.

As part of the competition, Round Rock Public Library is adapting its Biz.ability small business workshop program to focus on guiding entrepreneurs through the process of creating a viable business plan . The library also offers a variety of research tools specifically designed to help small business owners and potential entrepreneurs answer vital questions related to competition, buying behavior and more.

Entrants must be Round Rock residents, submit a plan for a start-up business that will be located within the Round Rock city limits, and meet with a Round Rock librarian and an Austin SCORE mentor at least once before the March 15, 2022.

The deadline for submitting business plans is March 31, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Upon submission, plans will be reviewed for technical accuracy and compliance with competition requirements, community impact, and viability of the proposed business model.

The six finalist individuals or teams will pitch their business plans to a panel of judges, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top two entrants.
