New Corporate Business Plan Proposed to Wetaskiwin Town Council

Wetaskiwin City Council received the new 2023-2026 Corporate Plan at its regular meeting on August 22. This business plan aligns with the city council’s strategic plan as well as the community’s 50-year vision.

In April 2022, the Board approved its 2022-2032 Board Strategic Plan which provides direction to the administration for the Board’s community goals over the next 10 years.

“This is something new for the City: a four-year plan to move us forward, ensuring our core service delivery meets community and council expectations,” said City Manager Sue Howard.

“I am proud of the work done by City staff to make this plan a reality. »

There are 28 initiatives identified in the corporate plan that support Board and management priorities. These were chosen on the basis of their ability to deliver the best result within the limits of administrative capacity and not to compromise the delivery of services to the city.

The city says advancing the corporate plan will help each city department develop their own service plans and incorporate them into their priority-based budgets.

The administration must report to the council quarterly on the city’s progress with the plan’s initiatives.
