Dominion Energy will open its public parks on the Irmo and Lexington sides of the Lake Murray Dam for the 2022 recreation season starting Wednesday.
The beach and recreation area on the Lexington side will remain open until September 5. Parking fees for all vehicles on both sides will be $5, with season passes available for $50 per vehicle.
“Many people look forward to visiting Lake Murray each summer to enjoy this beautiful recreation site in the South Carolina Midlands,” Billy Chastain, director of Lake Management for Dominion Energy South Carolina, said in a press release. . “We urge everyone to put safety first. The boat launch area on the Irmo side of the dam is accessible to the public 24 hours a day year-round, with parking fees collected from April 13 to September 13. 5. The Lexington side recreation area will be open 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday from April 13 to May 1 and 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday from May 1 through September 1. 5. Alcohol and pets are prohibited at both facilities, and no lifeguards will be on duty at the beach site. Swimming is prohibited at the boat launch.
