Pittsburgh-based Evoque Water Technologies recently completed its purchase of Smith Engineering, a Minnesota-based company that designs, manufactures and services custom high-purity water treatment equipment for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase enables Evoque to enhance its portfolio of high purity water treatment systems and expand its service footprint in North America.

“We are delighted to welcome the Smith Engineering team to the Evoque family,” said Ron Keating, CEO of Evoque. “With the closing of this transaction, Evoque is well positioned to expand its service footprint to provide proven water solutions to our customers in key markets.”

The deal was announced in June. Smith Engineering became part of Evoque’s Integrated Solutions and Services segment.

Smith Engineering offers a variety of water treatment products and services, including deionization, filtration, reverse osmosis, ultrapure water systems and UV, to the biotechnology/pharmaceutical, data centers, food and beverage, healthcare, medical devices and microelectronics.

Smith Engineering has over 1,200 customers in North America.

Evoque Water Technologies serves more than 38,000 customers and operates in more than 150 locations in nine countries. It offers products, services and expertise to support industrial, municipal and recreational customers.

Evoque also recently opened its global center of excellence in the UK. The establishment will develop UV disinfection solutions.
