Business manager

A glimpse into the life of Hollywood’s go-to business leader, Travis Guterman

Growing up in West Los Angeles, Travis Guterman was exposed to the entertainment industry from an early age. His mother worked as a writer and producer, and she often took him to events and screenings at the Writers Guild. Travis attended a private school in Santa Monica, and many of his classmates were celebrity kids.

Guterman grew up immersed in the entertainment industry, but he wasn’t interested in becoming the next superstar actor. Travis wanted to understand the business side of the industry, so he took business classes at the local community college. His first job was working as an intern at Merrill Lynch. This work experience taught Travis many things, most importantly, how to communicate with customers. Travis’ internship took place during the Great Recession, and Travis got to see how financial advisors helped their clients through major financial decisions during a crisis.

After his internship, Travis started working for a major investment firm called TCW. During this time, Travis began advising an Israeli startup called BITES on financial matters, business development, and content creation.

Today, Travis is a business manager for Hollywood clients, professional athletes and wealthy entertainment executives. Travis recently expanded his business management services to include YouTubers, TikTokers, gamers and other digital media stars. Guterman helps all of his clients achieve their short and long term financial goals while avoiding the financial pitfalls of Hollywood.

Many people confuse business managers with traditional accountants. As Business Manager, he oversees clients’ finances and day-to-day business operations, allowing them to devote their time and energy entirely to the creative aspects of their business.

Travis proactively manages all facets of his clients’ financial lives. He provides advice on paying bills, insurance, payroll, investing, acquiring assets, planning for retirement, and even launching brands and businesses. These services allow its customers to benefit from a stable financial environment even in times of crisis.

Guterman is one of the few entertainment industry CEOs under 30. His age allows him to identify with young talents. It has moved away from the old accounting and banking software used by traditional business management companies. Guterman’s journey shows that there are many ways to succeed in Hollywood.
